Daily active users of Instagram has now topped that of Twitter. User data from August also suggests that Instagram users spent more minutes accessing their photo-sharing site via mobile than did Twitter users.
Examples of ways for companies to use Instagram:
• Restaurants – Make people hungry! Show off your cuisine, desserts, specialty dishes, wine selection, lunch specials…
• Fashion Boutique – Keep your Fashionistas up to date – latest trends, new arrivals, full looks, accessories…
• Nightclub/Bar – announce specials, events, tell people to tag the bar in their pictures to receive specials (Their friends see it, they will come)…
Now Instagram has even released their desktop site, so user profiles are accessible on computers instead of only one’s mobile like it was previously. More on this launch can be read on the Instagram Blog. Being integrated with Facebook and Twitter apps also expands the reach of a single person on Instagram because now they have the ability to not only reach their Instagram followers when they share image, but also their network of Facebook friends and twitter followers.
Instagram is not only a good way to brand a company but it is also great for personal branding. Just make sure that your posts are appropriate for how you want to be perceived. If in doubt then set personal profiles to private. Follow me on Instagram: Maki Wiggins
